About the Candidate:

I am announcing my candidacy for the Office of Sheriff for Dawson County. I have lived in Dawson County for 13 years and I have seen the county go through many changes. Some of those changes were good and some were not so good. However, I am not going to criticize anyone.

I believe that I will make a good choice as Sheriff because I have the best interest of our community deep within my heart. I have watched our county grow over the years and I am proud to be a resident.

Growing up, my father taught me one very important lesson. No matter how good we think we are doing, we can always do better. We should always strive to set our goals higher each time and when we achieve those goals we should set our goals higher than before.

If elected, that will be my approach to running the Sheriff’s Office. I will set my goals high and work endlessly to achieve them. I will work hard to serve and protect all the citizens of our county. I am deeply committed to providing the best law enforcement services to our citizens and those who visit Dawson County.

We don’t pay taxes for uniformed deputies to sit behind desks.

We don’t pay taxes for our deputies to have poor equipment.

We don’t pay taxes for our deputies to leave and go to other agencies with better pay and equipment.

Our deputies are trained to fight crime and keep the citizens safe. Therefore, our taxes should compensate them and be used to purchase the proper protective equipment.

If the residents of this fine county can find it in their hearts to elect me as their Sheriff, I promise that I will proudly wear the uniform of the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.

I promise I will make those important and tough decisions regarding law enforcement in our county. I promise I will be a working Sheriff on the road with our deputies.

I promise I will be accessible to the community and a problem solver.

But most importantly, I promise to never forget why I am doing it. I will be doing it for the people of Dawson County.

I will be doing it because the citizens put their faith and trust in me and I will never betray that trust.
