Elect a true public safety professional to the Washington County Coroner's office.

I began my 30 year experience in public safety as a volunteer with my local ambulance service and then shortly after with the fire department. I attended the Community College of Allegheny County Allied Health program and became a certified Emergency Medical Technician. After two years as an EMT, I completed the Forbes Health System Paramedic program and obtained my PA Department of Health Paramedic license. I also hold certification as a Firefighter II and Hazardous Materials - Operations with the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications.

Throughout my career, I have worked in all areas of public safety; police, fire and EMS. As director of operations for Lifestar Ambulance, I spent 10 years managing one of the largest ambulance services in Western PA as well as working in a number of hospital based systems. I currently serve as the Emergency Management Coordinator for North Strabane Township.

I believe my extensive public safety experience will bring a fresh and much needed change in perspective to the Coroner's office.

Your county taxes went up 23% in 2010

I want to thank you for considering me for county commissioner. I am bringing up the tax increase because most residents didn't know their taxes went up. The reason you may not have known this is the budget increase was put on the agenda one hour before the meeting and passed with little discussion. This increase didn't happen because of the last 4 years but is an accumulation of 8 and 12 years of what I call crisis management. One of changes the county needs is long range financial planning. We need to put together a 1, 3 and 5 year financial plan. That's what I do for businesses and for families. Why should the county be any different?

I don't know how you feel about government, but I don't feel that I've been represented for a long time. I will represent the residents of the county and fight for the individual. A minimum of once a month I will have an open meeting at a set place and time in the evening so you can come voice your opinion. If the community comes to me with a concern (such as Children in Youth) I will look into it and give you an honest a assessment of the situation.

There are many issues that the county will be facing in the future such as -

Marcellus shale drilling (protection of water supplies, infrastructure and taxes) Budget cuts from the State and Federal government 911 system up grades The garbage dump Centre Crest budget and operation

I will address the issses with your input and find solutions for the challenges that face us. With my experience and leadership we will keep Centre County a great place to live and raise a family.

The Commissioner�s Office is a place where crucial decisions are made that affect the well-being and prosperity of the county and citizens he loves. Selego will apply the same principles that have helped him grow a successful business for the past 35 years as he seeks to serve as a County Commissioner.

For the past two years Selego has been preparing for this election by studying the role of the County Commissioners, the manual that outlines their duties and responsibilities and intently studying what it takes to be effective in this important office.

Key issues Selego has identified: Marcellus Shale gas development, shrinking state and federal contributions to our county, the 911 services upgrade, and the future of Centre Crest and the county water authorities. These are critical issues that will determine the future of Centre County and its residents.

When my friends traded Schuylkill County for greener pastures, I knew how green it was here. We have lush State Parks, Great Hunting, and we have fabulous places to eat. I want my family to have a positive Schuylkill County Experience like I did growing up here as a life time resident.
